About Ima Noodles
Ima (pronounced ee-ma) has been serving Detroit-style noodles since 2015. Udon noodles served in deeply flavorful pork-free broths, with an abundance of fresh vegetables and an array of unique garnishes remain a customer favorite alongside an large menu of signature ramen and noodle soups. Housemade dumplings, rice bowls and a large selection of shareable plates, such as spicy Ahi Tuna and fried chicken bites are found alongside a curated list of beer, wine cocktails and sake. Vegan and gluten free options are clearly labeled on the menu. With locations in Madison Heights and Midtown, Ima earned the tile of ‘Restaurant of the Year’ in 2019 by the ‘Detroit Free Press.’

I had an amazing experience at Ima Noodles! The atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and had a great vibe from the moment I walked in. The staff was incredibly friendly, and I was seated and served very quickly. A special shoutout to my server, Josie, who was absolutely phenomenal. She was attentive, kind, and made the entire experience even better. I highly recommend the Spicy Pork Tonkotsu Ramen—it was packed with flavor and easily one of the best bowls of ramen I’ve had. The kimchi was also fantastic and paired perfectly with the meal. Overall, everything was a 5/5—from the food and service to the atmosphere. I’ll definitely be coming back and would highly recommend Ima Noodles to anyone looking for a great meal!

Honestly, I came in hungry I came out full. my waiter was Aaron and he was really sweet guy. He actually helped us through the menu and was very descriptive. I’d give him 10 out of 10 stars and the food was really good and it has a lot of flavor. It didn’t take forever to come out either. try a different pop today Coco Rico coconut soda. It was really creamy. It’s not too pop with a lot of fizz.

Awesome food served hot and fresh! Totally worth it just for the Tokyo Street Fries alone! Such unique flavors! The Karage is crisp on outside, moist on inside! Highly recommended!! My friend loves the ramen!

Really solid spot for Japanese comfort food. The ramen and udon both stood out—the noodles had great texture, with just the right chewiness, and the broth was flavorful without being overly salty (which is surprisingly rare). The ginger chicken was another highlight: tender, well-seasoned, and cooked just right. Service was swift and efficient, and the staff were genuinely hospitable.

I’ve been going to IMA for years now and have been to all three locations. The Madison Heights location is closest to me and parking is easy peasy so I go there the most. They are very consistent and food is always delish. My top three favs are the beef pho, spicy tori ramen and the golden curry bowl. Definitely give them a try!
